Gnomon - San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
An interdisciplinary collaboration between John Randolph and Bruce Tomb for IOOA and visual artist Tom Bonauro
This temporary site-specific installation was commissioned by Aaron Betsky, Curator for the Department of Design and Architecture

A Gnomon is a simple device employed by ancient architects, shamans, and surveyors to locate a site on which to build or to orient one's self during a journey. We, as an amalgamation of artists and designers, inventors and architects revisited the ideas behind this "tool" for use in the post-modern world.
